Oklahoma, Where the Wind Comes Sweeping Down the Plain

An update from Oklahoma

The state law passed today, 37 to 9, had a few liberals in the mix, an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol.  The feds in DC, along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake.  Hey, this is a conservative state, based on Christian values.  Guess what?  We did it anyway.

We recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from, unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen.  They all scattered.  Hope we didn't send any of them to your state.  This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, who said it would be a mistake.  Guess what?  We did it anyway.

Yesterday we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegals to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes.  Pelosi said it was unconstitutional.  Guess what?  We did it anyway.

Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives.  That, for your information, makes Oklahoma and Texas the only states to do so.  Guess what?  More states are likely to follow.  Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, both Carolina's, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, just to name a few.  Should Mississippi act, so will Florida.  Save your confederate money.  It appears the South is about to rise again.

The federal Government has taken bold steps to take away our guns.  Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles.  I'm sure that was a setback for the Kennedys and Ms Pelosi.  Guess what?  We did it anyway.

By the way, Obama does not like any of this.  Guess what?  We don't care.  We're doing it anyway.

I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up.  She said she wanted to be President some day.

Both her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?'

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.'  Her parents beamed.

'Wow.  What a worthy goal,' I told her.  'But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that.  You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50.  Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.'

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?'

'Welcome to the Republican Party,' I said.

Her parents still aren't speaking to me.

Emperor Obama Moves to Silence His Opposition

I am disgusted by the actions of the Department of Homeland Security which has directed local law enforcement agencies to focus their attention on conservatives. The report warns of "rightwing extremism."  The Washington Times reveals that the report defines such extremism as, "groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority" and "groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

Barack Obama's administration is basically telling law enforcement that the potential enemy to this country and law-and-order are individuals who are pro-life, want the U.S. border secured, and believe in state's rights. And it gets worse. The DHS report says that military men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan should be perceived to be a potential threat. How dare Obama and his administration attempt to tarnish the noble, honorable and selfless service of our brave troops!

It's all part of Obama's efforts to silence and marginalize conservatives so he can push his radical far-Left agenda through, unfettered.

By executive order, President Barack Obama has ordered the expenditure of $20.3 million in migration assistance to the Palestinian refugees and conflict victims in Gaza. The "presidential determination" which allows hundreds of thousands of Palestinians with ties to Hamas to resettle in the United States was signed on January 27 and appeared in the Federal Register on February 4.

Few on Capitol Hill took note that the order provides a free ticket replete with housing and food allowances to individuals who have displayed their overwhelming support of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the parliamentary election of January 2006.

A review of Barack Obama's most recent actions since he was inaugurated:

His first call to any head of state as president was to Mahmoud Abbas, leader of Fatah party in the Palestinian territory.

His first one-on-one interview with any news organization was with Al Arabia television.

He ordered Guantanamo closed and all military trials of detainees halted.

He ordered all overseas CIA interrogation centers closed.

He withdrew all charges against the masterminds behind the USS Cole and 9/11.

Now we learn that he is allowing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refuges to move to and live in the US at American taxpayer expense.

A Glimpse at The Welfare Nation

First Lady Michelle Obama showed up Thursday as a surprise and welcome volunteer at Miriam's Kitchen, a soup kitchen for homeless poor people not far from the White House.

She brought with her some food donated by White House staff.   The first lady served up mushroom risotto and broccoli to a long line of homeless men and women during part of her lunch hour and in these photos poses for a picture by one homeless diner obviously excited to be in the first lady's presence.

It doesn't detract from the first lady's generous gesture or the real needs she seeks to highlight to ask two bothersome journalistic questions about these news photos :

1. If this unidentified meal recipient is too poor to buy his own food, how does he afford a cell phone?

2. And if he is homeless, where do they send the cell phone bills?

I have to admit it. My liberal friends were right. They told me if I voted for McCain, the nation's Hope would deteriorate, and sure enough there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer Confidence Index since the election, reaching a lower point than any time during the Bush administration.

They told me if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply embroiled in the Middle East, and sure enough tens of thousands of additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into Afghanistan.

They told me if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get worse and sure enough unemployment is approaching 8.8% and the new stimulus packages implemented recently have sent the stock market lower than at any time since 9-11.

They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "crooks" in high ranking positions in Federal government and sure enough, several recent cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of bribery and tax fraud.

Well I ignored my Democrat friends in November and voted for McCain. And they were right... all of their predictions have come true.

I Guess Someone Else Noticed It Too

Often when my mastiffs go outside, they take two steps, turn around and wait to be let back in.  At that point, I usually say something like, "Shoo!  Shoo!  Go off and do doggy things.  Chase a squirrel.  Find a branch.  Bark at a noise.  Sniff the fence."  President Obama needs the same talk.

Shoo!  Shoo!  Go off and do presidential things.  Sit at your desk.  Read a bill.  Confer with someone.  Double-check a statistic.  Keep an eye on Wall Street.  Hold a conference.  Listen to Hannity.   

I have never seen such a profuse public display of presidential attention-seeking in my entire life, and once he's finally out of office, I hope I never see it again.  Really.  There must be more to the presidency than television appearances.  Has he no dignity?  Isn't the presidency a full-time job that demands a great deal more than performing in front of cameras all day and night?
